I married a genetic freak

So Swell is swollen. Two days back at work and she's got a big foot. She went to the HAE study center and is being treated with an "experimental" treatment. "Experimental" only because the FDA won't approve drugs (or slight modifications of drugs) that have been used in other countries for quite some time.

So what did I, the loving, supportive husband, do while Swell was forced to stay at the study center for 5 hours?

I went and saw Transformers. Great movie. Now I'm eating a tomato filled sandwich that Swell would never let me eat if she was here. I'll pay for it later (my mouth is already tingling - I'm allergic for those who don't know) but it tastes so yummy.

Maybe I'll try to write the rest of our post now too. But her time is almost up and I should probably go and get her.

did Nicole want to see the movie? - if so you are a shmuck - if not, I guess there's nothing wrong with that.

Hope the drugs worked miracles and that she is fine now. Nice to know she can get this in Atlanta and Edmonton isn't to blame (this time anyway).

Looking foward to your next post.

Love Mum

Ha! Your mom called you a schmuck! Well, only if Swell wanted to see it.
Sorry you puffed up again. Hope the drugs worked their magic.

Matthew doesn't have to be called a shmuck. I didn't care to see it. I'm sure it was great, but I just didn't feel like seeing it (I was given the chance to see it when healthy and turned it down). So he's a good guy after all :)

I'm normal again. Either the meds or just time. It was a double-blind. I think I did get the meds though. I had to get blood draw twice, get a ECG done three times, and 3 sub cutaneous shots. The shots did hurt. I also got a check for $116! This is my part-time job :)

I'm allowed to screen for one more study and if I end up getting sick for that one, it'll be about $800! Yay for clinical trials!

(they are safe by the way, these meds have been used in Europe for a LONG time - they're just not approved in the US/Canada yet)
