Whitey on the moon

We're minorities here.

Although there are a number of whities here, for the most part we're few and far between.

Most of the whities here are wealthy.

We are not.

We are treated differently than the locals. We are treated much, much better in shops and restaurants than others. Often we are taken to the front of the line. We always have help if we need it in a shop.

We're always stopped on the street (by the same guy - you'd think he'd get a clue) to tell us not to shop on the streets and warn us to keep our valuables in front of us rather than in our back pockets or in a backpack.

The beggars and charity folks stop us more than others. The beggars get a little hostile toward us when we don't give them anything. (Hostile here means they curse us under their breath).

Its interesting being a minority. We get stared at a bit (but not as bad as in Palestine). We feel guilty about being treated better but what can you do?

There was a point to this but I can't recall it now. So I'll have to come back to it.

The title of this post is taken from a song the I heard as a cover by Every Day Life. I don't recall the original artist.

That sounds very uncomfortable. I can't imagine what it would be like to be a minority and treated like an inferior person, either. I guess it could be worse.
